Graded Specs Don’t Reflect My Latest Fit

This article explains why the Graded Specs page may not reflect the most recent fit changes and how grading logic works in Tech Pack Wizard.

How Graded Specs Are Determined

Graded specs in Tech Pack Wizard are always based on:

  1. The most recently added Fit Sheet

  2. The Revised Spec Measurement from that fit

  3. The Grade Rule defined for each Point of Measure (POM)

If graded specs look incorrect, the issue is usually related to which fit data is currently driving the grading.

Check the Most Recent Fit Sheet

Graded specs always reference the latest Fit Sheet, which represents the most recent sample.

If you added multiple Fit Sheets:

  • The last added Fit Sheet takes priority
  • Sample size measurements from that Fit Sheet are used to populate the Graded Specs page

If an older Fit Sheet was updated instead of the most recent one, graded specs will not change.

Updating Measurements After a Fit

When a revised measurement is added on the Fit Sheet:

  • The Sample Size Measurement on the Graded Specs page updates automatically
  • All graded measurements are recalculated immediately based on the grade rule

Saving the Illustrator file is not required for Graded Specs to update from the Fit Sheet.

Updating Measurements Directly on the Graded Specs Page

If no new Fit Sheet is needed:

  • You can update the Sample Size Measurement directly on the Graded Specs page
  • All graded specs will recalculate automatically

This is useful for quick corrections that are not tied to a specific fit round.

Manual Overrides on Graded Specs

If a measurement for a size other than the sample size is manually edited on the Graded Specs page:

  • That size will no longer be automatically graded with the rest of the size range.
  • The automatic grading formula for that size is effectively overridden.

This is useful in cases where grading is not linear, such as split grading, where larger sizes need to grade at a different increment.

Once a size has been manually overridden:

  • That specific measurement must be maintained manually.
  • It will not update automatically if the sample size measurement or grade rule changes.

Notes

  • Automatic grading is always based on the sample size measurement and grade rule.
  • Manual overrides intentionally break the grading formula for the edited size only.
  • This behavior allows flexibility when standard grading does not apply.

If Graded Specs Still Don’t Update

In rare cases where updates do not appear as expected:

  1. Save the Illustrator file.

  2. Press the reload button at the top of the plugin panel.

Saving or Reloading the file can resolve edge cases if syncing does not occur as expected.

Quick Checklist

If graded specs don’t reflect the latest fit, check:

  • Was the update made on the most recent Fit Sheet?
  • Was the Sample Size Measurement revised?
  • Did grading recalculate as expected?
  • If needed, was the Illustrator file saved as a fallback?
