Manage Size Ranges with Size Range Admin

This guide explains how the Size Range Admin works in Tech Pack Wizard and how to manage size ranges used for grading specifications.

A size range defines which sizes are used for grading and which size is treated as the base size.

What Size Range Admin Does

Size Range Admin allows you to:

  • Define size ranges for a style
  • Name size labels (e.g. XS–XL, 0–12)
  • Control which size is used as the base size for graded specifications

When to Use Size Range Admin

Size Range Admin is used when you need to:

  • Rename sizes (for example, XS → 2)
  • Change the base size used for grading
  • Add or remove sizes

Size ranges should ideally be reviewed and updated before adding specs, but they can be edited later if needed.

Step 1: Open Size Range Admin

  1. Open the Tech Pack Wizard panel.

  2. Click the Size Range Admin button located at the bottom of the panel in Flats view.

Step 2: Review the Default Size Range

When the Size Range Admin opens:

  • The XS–XL size range is already applied.
  • Size M is designated as the base size for grading.
  • If the default size range meets your needs, no changes are required.
  • Press Save to exit.

Step 3: Rename Sizes

To rename a size:

  1. Open Size Range Admin.

  2. Click into a size label.

  3. Enter the new size name.

  4. Press Save to save and exit.

Renaming sizes updates how sizes appear throughout the tech pack.

Step 4: Change the Base Size

The base size is the reference size used for grading.

To change the base size:

  1. Open Size Range Admin.

  2. Select a different size as the sample size by clicking the check box next to a size.

  3. Press Save to save and exit.

All new graded measurements will be calculated based on the selected base size. And the new sample size measurements will appear on the fit sheet.

Step 5: Add or Delete Sizes

Add a Size

  1. Open Size Range Admin.

  2. Click the paper icon at the bottom to add new size. The new size will be added to the bottom of the list.

  3. Name the size accordingly.

Delete a Size

  1. Open Size Range Admin.

  2. Press the trash can icon to delete the last size.

Changes to sizes are reflected on the Graded Specs page.

Step 6: Update Size Ranges After Adding Specs (If Needed)

If size ranges are updated after specs have already been created:

  • Graded specs are automatically recalculated
  • Measurement logic remains based on:
    • Sample size measurement
    • Grade rule
    • Tolerance

No re-entry of spec data is required.

Notes

  • A size range is automatically applied when the plugin is opened.
  • Size ranges apply to the entire tech pack.
  • Changing size names or base size updates the Graded Specs and Fit Sheet pages.
  • Always save the Illustrator file to ensure updates are reflected throughout the tech pack.
