Preloaded Libraries

This guide explains how to use the preloaded libraries available in the Tech Pack Wizard panel.

The preloaded libraries include Symbols, Graphic Styles, and Brushes, which provide ready-to-use assets for sketching and consistency.

What the Preloaded Libraries Include

Brushes

Preloaded brushes are designed for common garment drawing needs, such as stitching lines and trims.

These brushes can be applied while sketching to quickly create consistent line work.

Symbols

Preloaded symbols include commonly used garment components, such as pockets, buttons, and trims.

Symbols can be placed into sketches and reused across Primary and Detail Sketches.

Graphic Styles

Preloaded graphic styles apply a set of appearance attributes, such as fills and strokes.

These styles are useful for maintaining visual consistency across sketches.

For example, for an internal back view a graphic style may apply:

  • Grey fill
  • Black stroke
  • 1 pt stroke weight
  • Rounded corners

Graphic styles are commonly used when there are multiple attributes that need to be applied to an object.

Step 1: Open the Preloaded Libraries

  1. Open the Tech Pack Wizard panel (Window > Extensions > Tech Pack Wizard).

  2. Access the Preloaded Libraries below the Detail Sketches section.

The libraries are automatically loaded and available for use.

Step 2: Use Brushes

  1. Select the path from your sketch that you want to apply the brush to.

  2. Choose a brush from the preloaded brush library.

  3. The selected brush will be applied to the path.

Preloaded brushes are typically used on Primary Sketches for elements such as stitching lines and trims

Step 3: Use Symbols

  1. Open the Symbols library.

  2. Select a symbol, such as a pocket or button.

  3. Place the symbol onto the sketch.

Symbols can be resized and positioned as needed.

Symbol Editing Notes

  • To edit a symbol and update all instances, double-click the symbol to enter the symbol definition. Any changes made will be applied to every instance of that symbol.
  • To edit a symbol independently, break the link to the symbol (from the right click menu or button in the top toolbar). This creates an expanded version of the symbol that is editable and no longer linked to other symbol instances.

Step 4: Apply Graphic Styles

  1. Select a path or object in the sketch.

  2. Choose a graphic style from the preloaded graphic styles library.

  3. The selected style will be applied to the artwork.

Notes

  • Preloaded libraries are available by default and do not require manual setup.
  • Assets from the libraries can be used across multiple sketches within the same tech pack.
  • Graphic styles help maintain consistent appearance across views and pages.
