This article explains what happens if your sample size becomes unchecked after specs have already been added, and how to avoid losing your data.
Why This Happens
The default sample size in TPW is M. If you change your size range — for example, switching from alpha sizes to numerical sizes — the original sample size label (M) may no longer exist in the new range, causing it to become unchecked.
If specs have already been entered when this happens and you then go into Size Range Admin to select a new sample size, the plugin will display the following alert:
“Specs have already been added to this tech pack. Changing the sample size will remove all existing specs from the Fit Sheet and Graded Specs pages and must be re-entered based on the new sample size. This action cannot be undone.”
If you accept, all measurements on the Fit Sheet and Graded Specs pages will be cleared. The grade rule will remain, but the measurements will need to be re-entered.
How to Avoid This
Always double-check that a sample size is selected in Size Range Admin before entering specs, especially if you have changed your size range.
If It's Already Happened: How to Recover Your Specs
- Screenshot your Fit Sheet before accepting the alert (press no when it first pops up and then go screenshot your fit sheet).
- Go to Size Range Admin and select the correct sample size.
- Accept the alert.
- Re-enter your Fit Sheet measurements using your screenshot as reference.
- The grade will automatically re-apply to the re-entered measurements on the Graded Specs page.
