What is Tech Pack Wizard? How does it work?

Tech Pack Wizard is a plug-in for Adobe Illustrator that allows you to create full tech packs without ever leaving Illustrator. It works by intuitively linking data from your Illustrator artboards to the appropriate pages in your tech pack, speeding up your workflow and saving you precious time.

Yes! We love free things and have a feeling you might love TPW. So, we want you to give it a whirl yourself. You get your first two weeks absolutely free. If you don’t like TPW you can cancel your membership, no hard feelings. But if you’re one of the many designers who think TPW can change their working lives, you can continue your membership at a monthly or annual rate.

Definitely! It’s an Adobe Illustrator world and we’re all just living in it… But really, Tech Pack Wizard runs inside Adobe Illustrator and requires an active Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.

Tech Pack Wizard supports current versions of Adobe Illustrator available through Creative Cloud.

Yes! TPW works on both Mac and PC systems.

We get it, things change. Sometimes you’re making 50 tech packs a month, and other times not so much. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Lemon Squeezy account:

You can share the file itself. They’ll see the artwork on the artboards, but the interactive TPW panel data won’t display unless they install TPW and have an active subscription.

Tech Pack Wizard exports to PDF and Excel files for ultimate flexibility.

Yes, you need an internet connection to access and use the Tech Pack Wizard plugin.

How much is Tech Pack Wizard?

Yes, we offer a free 14 day trial to make sure Tech Pack Wizard is right for you before any payment is taken.

Yes. All payments are securely processed through Lemon Squeezy, our trusted merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy is PCI-DSS compliant and uses industry-standard encryption and fraud protection measures, so your payment information is handled safely and securely.

Payments are processed through Lemon Squeezy. They accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), as well as PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other local payment methods depending on your country.

Each subscription currently includes one license for one user. If you’re setting up TPW for a team, simply purchase a separate subscription for each user. If you have questions about larger teams, feel free to contact us.

Getting Started FAQs

How do I install Tech Pack Wizard?

1. Purchase your subscription through our Pricing page (payments are securely processed by Lemon Squeezy).
2. After checkout, click the Install button in the confirmation screen.
3.You’ll be taken to the Adobe Exchange listing.
4. Click Install — the plugin will install automatically through your Creative Cloud Desktop app.
5. Open Adobe Illustrator and launch Tech Pack Wizard from the Extensions panel.

That’s it — no manual file downloads required.

Open Adobe Illustrator and go to: Window → Extensions → Tech Pack Wizard

Make sure you’re signed into the Creative Cloud Desktop app with the same Adobe account you used to install.

3. Confirm you’re signed into the correct Adobe account

After installing, open TPW in Illustrator and log in using the email address you used at checkout.

Your subscription is licensed for one user. You can use it on your own devices, but it may not be shared across multiple users.

Troubleshooting FAQs

What should I do if Tech Pack Wizard is not appearing in my Adobe Illustrator Windows Extension menu?

First, restart Adobe Illustrator. A quick restart often resolves extension visibility issues.

Next, make sure you’re running the latest versions of both Adobe Illustrator and Tech Pack Wizard. You can check for updates in the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

If TPW still isn’t appearing, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll help you get it sorted.

Open Illustrator and check the Tech Pack Wizard version number listed in the Windows > Extension menu.

Then visit the TPW listing on Adobe Exchange and compare your version number to the latest version listed there.

If they don’t match, open the Creative Cloud Desktop app and check for available updates. Updating Illustrator may also prompt the latest TPW version to install.

First, restart Illustrator.

Next, make sure both Illustrator and TPW are updated to the latest versions via Creative Cloud Desktop.

If the issue continues, please contact us with your Illustrator version and a brief description of the issue:

Make sure you’re logged in using the same email address you used at checkout.

You can also verify your subscription status through your customer portal (linked in your purchase email).

If you’re still having trouble, contact us and we’ll take a look:

Install TPW from Adobe Exchange on your new device and log in using your purchase email. If you run into activation limits, contact us and we’ll help.

No. As long as your subscription is active, TPW will continue to work. Simply log in with your purchase email.

No need to delete it! This blank Colorways page will not be exported with your tech pack. It is there if you need to add more than 3 colorways but will only export if it has information on the page. You can double check this by clicking on Preview PDF. You should only see one Colorways page in the preview.
