This article explains why no Primary Sketch options may appear in the Detail Sketch dropdown menu, and how to resolve it.
Why This Happens
For the Detail Sketch dropdown to recognise Primary Sketch 1, the plugin needs one of the following to be true:
- Primary Sketch 1 (PS 1) has a croquis attached to it, or
- A second Primary Sketch (PS 2) has been added
If neither condition is met, the dropdown will appear empty.
How to Fix It
There are two ways to resolve this:
Option 1: Add a Croquis to PS 1
- Navigate to PS 1 in the Primary Sketches section of the plugin panel.
- Add a croquis to it from the dropdown menu, or import your own.
- Return to the Detail Sketch section and check the dropdown. Primary Sketch 1 should now appear.
- If you don’t need the croquis, you can remove it once the dropdown is working.
Option 2: Add a Second Primary Sketch (PS 2)
- Navigate to the Primary Sketches section of the plugin panel.
- Add a second Primary Sketch.
- Return to the Detail Sketch and check the dropdown. PS 1 and PS 2 should now appear as options.
Either option will trigger the plugin to recognize the Primary Sketch and populate the dropdown correctly.
Quick Checklist
If no Primary Sketch appears in the Detail Sketch dropdown:
- Does PS 1 have a croquis attached?
- Is there more than one Primary Sketch added (PS 2 or beyond)?
At least one of the above needs to be true for the dropdown to populate.
