2nd Primary Sketch Not Appearing in Detail Sketch

This article explains why a Detail Sketch linked to Primary Sketch 2 may render blank, and how to fix it.

Why this Happens

When a sketch is copied and pasted onto the Primary Sketch 2 artboard, it can sometimes land on the wrong layer and sit on the PS 1 layer instead of the PS 2 layer.

 

When the Detail Sketch is linked to PS 2, it looks for artwork on the PS 2 layer. If the sketch isn’t there, the Detail Sketch will render blank.

How to Fix It

Just one step:

  1. Save your Illustrator file.

Saving triggers the plugin to push the sketch to the correct layer. Once saved, the PS 2 sketch should now appear on your linked Detail Sketch.
